We’re celebrating the work our team members do both in and out of the office! Community is one of AUI’s core values and we believe that serving the community is just as important as doing business in the community. On October 1, members of our team volunteered with Rebuilding Together of Northeast Ohio at The Highlands as part of She Builds.
AUI Gives Back was honored to be a sponsor of the program and AUI’s own Alice Rhodes has been a champion for the program participating on the She Builds steering committee.
She Builds is a powerful collaboration between Rebuilding Together, corporate and community leaders who are dedicated to advancing the housing and community issues affecting women. Volunteers, homeowners, and community members come to the builds with a myriad of experiences and skills to share and learn from one another. Not only are community members given the opportunity to give back but underserved women are empowered to improve their health and safety conditions by taking home repair training classes to also assist in the renovation projects taken on by She Builds and to make home repairs in their own homes.
Alice was joined by Clarity HR team members Danielle Sanders and Andrea Alderman. Together they helped construct an outdoor space at The Highlands which is the only licensed residential teen pregnancy shelter in the state of Ohio. It provides critical services to homeless or at-risk pregnant teens and their babies. You can see the story on the local news here.
