In 2018 AUI employees logged over 1,500 hours serving in our community. As a team, AUI sorted food at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, renovated the home of disabled veteran with Rebuilding Together of Northeast Ohio, and prepared drug disposal pouches for the Deterra Project. This year we even tried our hand a racing in the United Way All American Soap Box Derby Corporate Challenge.
We also encourage our team to follow their passions in service. This year, members of AUI’s team coached little league, served on numerous non-profit boards, built homes, fed the hungry, mentored youth, and much more. It is impressive to see the diversity of organizations that our team supports and gives you a sense of who the people of AUI are and what they are passionate about. To further encourage their efforts the team member with the most individual volunteer hours also receives a $1,000 donation to the charity of their choice.
Watch a summary of some of our #AUIGivesBack adventures in our most recent video.
This year Brenda Basso completed over 185 service hours to earn the place as AUI Gives Back Volunteer of the Year. Brenda volunteered for the Aultman Women’s Board, National Sales and Marketing Executives, Junior Achievement and in other areas. She has decided to split her donation between two organizations: Junior Achievement and JRC. Congratulations Brenda!
Not only to AUI employees volunteer in the community, AUI also provided in kind and financial donations to organizations throughout the year. Team members collected food for a local pantry and Christmas presents for foster children. We are grateful for the opportunities we have to give to organizations that help move our community forward. Please follow our efforts at #AUIGivesBack and thank you for allowing us to give back as your local insurance team.
