AUI Gives Back – Act#36 Sips of the City: A Toast to the Good Samaritan Hunger Center

50 Years 50 Acts of Serivce, AUI Gives Back, Blog

On a crisp autumn evening in Akron, AUI was proud to be a silver sponsor of the Sips of the  City benefiting the Good Samaritan Hunger Center. It was a delightful gathering that combined the best of local food, beverages, and community spirit. This year, the event not only showcased the culinary talents of local chefs and breweries but also served a higher purpose: to raise awareness and funds for hunger relief efforts in the Akron, Ohio area.

Why Did AUI Support the Sips of the City Event?

At the core of the Sips of the City event is the mission of the Good Samaritan Hunger Center. This organization has been a beacon of hope for those facing food insecurity in the community. By providing access to nutritious food and supportive services. The center plays a critical role in alleviating hunger and fostering dignity among its clients.

The funds raised during the event go directly to support the Hunger Center’s programs. This includes food distributions, nutrition education, and partnerships with local farms. This year’s event aimed to not only raise funds but also to educate attendees about the pressing issue of hunger in their own backyard.
