AUI is proud to support community activists like Officer Sharpe and his grass roots nonprofit. The Be a Better Me Foundation. He saw a great need to repair the stigma of how the police serve the community. He wants the community he serves to see him as an advocate for change. Growing up in a rough Akron community himself, he truly understands the need to build bridges for communities to come together. So he started the Build a Better Me Foundation.
About the Build a Better Me Foundation
The Be a Better Me Foundation is a community-based organization. It is designed to help empower and encourage youth, on and off the right path in life. Officer Sharpe started the organization to see the good in themselves & others.
They work to strengthen the relationship between police and the community. Officer Sharpe believes the key to success for peace with our communities is building a better relationship with the police. Officers work with the community to show how much he cares for all of them. He is on a mission to show how much officers care for the communities they serve. #CommunityPolicing
