Home/ACA, Blog, Group Insurance, Individual Insurance/Why do I need an Agent?

We live in a drive thru world.  From pizza to apartments the ability to shop online or in person quickly for items is continuing to grow in popularity. In addition, we can access more information on the web than ever before.  Our need for speed coupled with the amount of information on the web puts consumers in the drivers seat. We can shop for insurance online and within moments have a policy.  But are you missing out on some opportunities for savings or better coverage? Talking to a licensed agent could make a difference.

You may be thinking, why do I need an agent?  I can easily fill out my application and choose my policy online.  Well this may be true, you are missing out on the most important role of an insurance agent: Education.

For no additional cost to you licensed insurance agent can take the time to explain how insurance works, recommend the best insurance plan for your family and budget, and help you enroll in coverage.  When you have questions or a problem arises an agent can help you find answers and recommend solutions.  AUI insurance agents do this every day for clients.

As an employer, having an insurance agent can be a valuable resource.  Employers have unique responsibilities under the Affordable Care Act and having an agent as a trusted advisor who can notify employers of changes to the law is important.  AUI’s team of licensed professionals works with employers of all sizes.
